Benefits of Belonging to Equestrian Sports New Zealand
The Board explained the reason that New Zealand Polocrosse originally joined ESNZ as an associate member – it was a prerequisite from SPARC that we affiliate with a larger sport, so the Board chose ESNZ as it was equestrian related, instead of being just “lumped in” with another sport – such as Badminton or something similar.
Through New Zealand Polocrosse’s affiliation with ESNZ we have access to their high performance advice and technical templates; access to appropriate volunteer and technical official workshops and development programmes on a user pay basis; access to governance advice, templates and processes; access to the ESNZ Bulletin – approximately 1 page per issue; access to ESNZ website for promotion of events and the sport of Polocrosse to be considered; assistance with up to 6 submissions of Charitable, Community and Gaming Trust applications per year; Public Liability Insurance ($5,000,000.00).
The annual affiliation fee is $4,000.00 + GST and is paid in quarterly installments.

IPC Rule Changes
All Associations have received a copy of the IPC rule changes with the AGM information that was sent out.

PUBLICITY OFFICER NEWS:
Expressions of Interest - The Publicity Officer has recently informed the board that she will be resigning from the position of Publicity Officer approximately two months after the 2011 World Cup. To ensure that the publicity of the sport continues the board is asking if anyone would like to enquire about what the job involves and to perhaps start assisting the current Publicity Officer, Carey Wenn, with a few small parts. Carey insists that the job is a lot fun, but if someone stepped up now Carey would be able to help step the next officer gently into the job.
Any enthusiasts are invited to email Carey Wenn at e.c.wenn@farmside.co.nz or phone 07 8954670 after 6pm for a confidential chat.

Articles for magazines - Could all clubs who have not replied yet about booking a month for the magazine article please do so as Carey needs to get this fairly well sorted before the season starts.
Website – Don’t forget to keep an eye on the web site as there are still regular changes and updates and some good photos of Redvale carnival and Champs.

JUNIORSCHOLARSHIPS:
Kristy Reiche was the successful recipient of the Queensland scholarship, with Terry- Lee Tawera and Kendall Te Akau receiving the scholarships to New South Wales. All the girls are now home and we look forward to their reports being available on the website.

CONTACT DETAILS:
Please continue to advise the Board Secretary of changes to Club and Association contact details. The form is available on the website. Changes will be updated on the website regularly, but not instantly. A new list of contacts will be sent out to Club and Association secretaries in November.

PLAYERS TRAVELLING OVERSEAS:
As per the International Umpires meeting in July 2009 – “Any player or official wishing to participate in polocrosse in another nation must obtain prior written approval from his/her home national association”. Forms are now available on the website for players wishing to travel overseas. These forms need to be completed and a copy returned to the New Zealand Polocrosse secretary.
