Playing polox in a incredible scenery and a amazing atmosphere

The “test matches” between Norway and Holland took place last weekend in
Rauland, Norway. The Dutch and Norwegian players stayed at Riding center
Rauland, which is located in a beautiful scenery in the South of Norway. The
riding center provided also the horses for the Dutch players. The Norwegians
rode on their own horses.

Zimbabwe Open 2009

Things got off to a start on the Wednesday – well actually preparations for
the open got off to a start long before the Wednesday but proceedings for the
annual Zim Open 2009 got underway on Wednesday the 9th of September with their
meet and greet, black tie ball the traditional gathering of all the players,
managers, sponsors, interested spectators and family, as well as honoured guests
and the few friends looking for a good party. The setting this year was
spectacular the ball was held at the venue as usual however this year they had
stepped it up a notch as they always do and we were treated to a fantastic array
of drapes and lighting surrounding the main seating area, the tables were
covered in flowers and confetti and it definitely was a world class event
especially for the polocrosse community.

UK Polocrosse makes its Sky Sports debut

Polocrosse will make its debut on Sky Sports at the end of October in a series
of four programs of the recent UK versus South Africa test match series. The
test match series took place at Ashfields polocrosse club in Essex on the 18th
and 19th of July and the UKPA arranged for the Country Channel to come and film
it and screen it through their own TV channel.

Polocrosse Demos at Blenheim are a great success
http://www.polocrosse-international.org/archives/1094

Members of the UK Under 16’s and Under 21’s, plus a few additional UKPA
players, put on 6 half an hour polocrosse displays over the 4 days of Blenheim
horse trials and received a very warm reception from the watching crowds and
generated a lot of interest in the sport. In each demo the squad showed off
their, and their horses’, skills first and then played a couple of chukkas.
The watching public seemed to really enjoy the displays and a lot of people came
back to watch the demonstration multiple times (to the point that certain
players were developing their own individual fan clubs).
